RightyO. Heard right. I'm developing a game with a friend of mine! He's quite skilled at mapping. It's going to be done ENTIRELY over the internet, however...since my friends moving to Florida very soon and it's unlikely he'll come to visit. -_- I shalt miss him...although he said he's gonna be on Aim CONSTANTLY since he's bringing his Uber laptop with him (seriously, I have never seen more power in a laptop before. It cost him $2400. He got it because he needs the processor power for the programs he'll be running as a graphical engineering student in college down in Florida. That things gotta be over twice as powerful as my PC!) So anyways... The game will be taking place in the Black Mesa facility after it was hit by the nuke from HalfLife 1. Due to current inexperience with the Source Engine (HalfLife 2's game engine), the fact that the Source engine lacks a the variety of enemies HalfLife 1 had, and the fact that it's twice as hard to use, the mod will be made with the HalfLife 1 Engine. This'll definitly lower graphical quality, but there's always the option of it being ported to Source later. CURRENT % COMPLETED: 8%
Status: Currently in early stages. I'm just drawing out map layouts and storyline bits. Expect large jumps in % once I finish sketching out a map, however. As my friend is quite fast at turning a sketch into an actual level.

HEY!!!
I never knew you made a forum about this. Maybe.... with the help of the rest of the forum, we can actually make a good thing work here? I'll work on the rest of the hazard course, but right now im in a competetion for TWHL (www.twhl.co.za) called water. Basically.. make a map with water being the main component, or something of the sort. So off and on i'll work on both. My mapping website has suffered a serious hit since the introduction of a new member to the band (time is short as of late) and college... well sucks. And yes, i can make a sketch into a level in about 3 hours.
1 if i have bawls.

Hehehe. A cooperative mod sounds like it would be really good.

With the help of who? I possess no talents other than insight and quick learning.
Granted even I have concidering making a game now and then, but those aspirations would require many many people. Besides the ideas are incomplete as all my ideas and would take years or decades to fully compile into something worth while. But I digress.

Hahaha. Yes, this could take years and its still in pre-development, but i work very fast when i have everything i need planned out and on paper. Modding for half life is relativley simple actually. All you need is the game, and a little program called hammer.
Sentios, any ideas or suggestions are welcome and appreciated! Vito, if you would, post the storyline and backup information? I will continue with the hazard course.
But truely, i dont beleive its going to take years. It's a mod, not an entirely new game. It uses the same engine, characters, weapons, monsters... its just a different storyline and map layout.

Don't worry about it. I'm sure you can be very valuable for input with suggestions, critism, suggestions; anything of the sort. Anyway. here are some screenshots and update information:: Sound files from vito have been modified, converted to the correct format, and are ready for introduction into the training level. Training level is complete aside from triggers and sound files. Mod folder has been created for Fission. Custom splash screen, buttons, and console background have been made and implemented.
