I must add, I really do see a music quality improvement, although I can't use my comps forward headphone jacks anymore. The quality makes up for it *simply using an extension I already had to bypass my speakers horrid built-in jack*. As an added bonus, the thing came with it's own midi synth that can be used as a midiOUT device. And I must say it PWNS Wingroove by a longshot! 96khz sampling rate and 24-Bit output. This is an impressive card. Nothing you'd want if you were into like...HUGE audio production. But if you want better than onboard audio for affordable price and you're a normal user, I'll suggest it. Only cost $30 at walmart and 1 PCI slot on my computer.

Just bought some new speakers to compliment them. The newer speakers are Altec Lansing's. The bass is softer than my previous speakers, and therefore sounds better IMO. The wiring is different too, while my old speakers simply used a junkload of headphone-type wires and something that appeared to be an "S-Audio" plug. The newer ones use the method where theres those clip things on back you insert the exposed ends of the speaker wires into and they lock in it. I believe they're called speaker audio terminals or RCA or something. They lack a headphone jack, but they do sound VERY good combined with some bass increase on my soundcards volume program's part. plus I could fit it in my desk completely. No more wires hanging around all around my computer restricting me from rolling my chair around in a circle like a maniac To solve the headphone jack problem (soundcard instalation disables computers default headphone jacks on the front and back of my computer since they're still hardwired to my comps old Realtek 658c sound chip. I'm going to get an audio splitter adapter (Y-Adapter for audio plugs) to split the headphone jack in the back into 2 so I can hook one cable going to the speakers, the other sitting by the bass speaker. I can then use a coupler I own to connect my headphones to the second cable when needed. Best part is I already own 2 cables and a coupler due to necessity when I had to wrap my old bass speakers plug around the back of the computer. High quality lil' buggers too.
